Best known for his action films with director John Woo, Chow Yun Fat is a veteran actor of over 70 movies. He has acted in everything from horror to action and comedy to drama. More known in Hong Kong for his comedic skills than action, Chow Yun Fat did not become a big movie star until "A Better Tomorrow" resurrected both his, and John Woo's, careers. The film also started a fashion trend in Hong Kong upon its release, as everybody wanted to be Mark Gor(Chow Yun Fat's character), wearing huge trench coats(even in the summer) and carrying cellular phones. However, it was Woo's and Chow's later collaborations on "The Killer" and "HardBoiled" that brought them to Hollywood's attention. Chow Yun Fat has often been referred to as a modern day Cary Grant and has been voted by People's Magazine as the sexiest action star of 1999. He plans to work, with Woo again in the future, on an action comedy titled "King's Ransom."
