Summary

In the future, a government group called Manticore creates a group of genetically engineered super soldiers called the X5s.  A dozen of these X5s escape into the world, and a man named Lydecker is sent to recapture them.  Luckily for these X5s, an electromagnetic pulse struck the U.S. turning the country into a third world power.  It allows the X5s to blend in and be normal again.  One of these X5s is a girl named Max who works as a bike messenger in Seattle.  Combined with feline DNA, Max has abilities superior to those of normal humans.  However, she needs drugs to survive, or she'll get spasms.  With the help of Logan, an underground cyber journalist, they are fighting evil and corruption while looking for the rest of her "family."
 
 

Episode Guide
 

Season One (2000-2001)

Episode 1: Pilot
After Max displays her amazing abilities breaking in to Logan's penthouse, he explains to her what he does and that he needs her help.  Only days after Max turns him down, Logan is shot and crippled while saving a girl on live television.  When one of her friends died because of a drug he was using got switched with sugar by corrupted politicans, Max finally agrees to help Logan.  Also she feels partly somewhat responsible for Logan's current conditions. 

Episode 2: Heat
Max discovers the locations of Hanna, a woman from her past, through the help of Logan.  In order to learn more about her past, Max is going to have to rescue Hanna before Manticore gets to her first.

Episode 3: Flushed
Thinking Max has a drug dependent problem, Max's roommate and Original Cindy throw away her drugs and attempt a drug intervention.  Needing pills to survive, Max breaks into a hospital and gets captured.  Logan and Original Cindy has to rescue Max before time runs out.

Episode 4: C.R.E.A.M.
Max and Logan help a girl in discovering the real reason why her father, a journalist, disappeared.

Episode 5: 411 On The DL
Finally Max finds one of the other X5s, but accidentally leads a track for Lydecker to find him.  Now Max needs Logan's help in rescuing Zack.

Episode 6: Prodigy
A group of terrorists arrive to liberate a super intelligent young boy during a press conference, but instead was forced to take hostages when the alarm goes off.  Those being held hostage include Lydecker, Max and her roommate.  Max is going to have to defeat the terrorists and save the boy without her true identity being revealed.

Episode 7: Cold Comfort
When Bran is captured by an unknown enemy, Zack and Max must enlist Lydecker for help.  But could they trust him?  They learn Bran has a gene mutating disease that will kill her unless she returns to Manticore for a cure.  With her condition deteriorating, Zack and Max must leave Bran to Lydecker's care.

Episode 8: Blah Blah Woof Woof
Wanted by police, Max is forced to leave Seattle.  However before she leaves, Max learns Logan has fallen into a coma.  Now she risks everything in order to give Logan a blood transfusion.  And Zack gives himself up to rescue her.

Episode 9: Out
Logan orders Max on a recon for stolen blood at an abandoned airstrip during their date.  When Logan and his detective friend are set up and captured, Max has to save them and retrieve some stolen goods.

Episode 10: Red
Max is not very happy with her latest assignment, protecting Bruno, the man who crippled Logan.  What make matters worse is that he is being hunted down by three super soldiers who can actually give Max a hard time.

Episode 11: Art Attack
Max has to recover a stolen painting to save Normal's life, while meeting Logan's family during a date.  Can Max do all this without messing up her hair or wrinkling her dress?

Episode 12: Rising
Original Cindy learns the truth about Max, when she is used as bait by a foreign government anxious to capture their very own X5s.  Max has to battle three soldiers whose powers rivaled her own, while trying to save her best friend.

Episode 13: The Kidz Are Alright
Max rushes to Zack's rescue after he escapes from the government.  The only problem is how much information he may have revealed during his imprisonment.  With Logan's help, Max has to warn all the other X5s that their positions may be compromised.

Episode 14: Female Trouble
Max must protect a doctor from a fellow X5 member.  The doctor used to work for Manticore and is now currently helping Logan to repair his legs.  When the doctor ends up dead, Max tries to convince her fellow X5 to leave Lydecker, while Logan ponders suicide.

Episode 15: Haven
Max and Logan arrive in a town where things are not known what they seem.  Max must protect a kid from a gang of killers.

Episode 16: Shorties In Love
An ex-girlfriend of Original Cindy just got out of jail, and she's carrying a deadly disease without knowing it.  On top of that, she follows Max during a mission and steals her loot resulting in Max's capture.

Episode 17: Pollo Loco
People of religion are being hunted down by a X5.  Max knows the killer, but refuses to let Logan know, which is putting a strain on their relationship.  Max is going to have to take down the X5 before he kills another innocent victim.  While Logan learns something from Lydecker about Max that he doesn't like.

Episode 18: I And I Am A Camera
A strange man has been taking pictures of Max, and now he's enlisting her help in his quest against evil and injustice.  Also something has been assassinating people without anyone's attention, and its secret may be connected to Logan's family.  Its next target is Logan, and if he survives, he'll lose his fortune.

Episode 19: Hit A Sista Back
A man is making his family a target, when he posts a picture of his missing wife on milk cartons.  Unknown to him, his wife is a X5.  Now Max, in a race against time, must convince the man to leave with his son before Lydecker and the rest of Manticore get there.

Episode 20: MEOW
With part feline DNA, Max is now in heat.  Max is going to try avoiding contact with any man with the help of Original Cindy.  Unfortunately, she doesn't succeed.  Does Max do it with the man she love or someone she doesn't even know?  Meanwhile, Zack discovers the location of where they're hiding a fellow X5.

Episode 21: ...And Jesus Brought A Casserole
Now that Lydecker knows Madame X wants him dead, he enlists Max, Zack and two other escaped X5 members to help him destroy Manticore.  Not only do they have to contend with other X5s, but also the X7s,  newer and younger versions of the X5s.  At least one of them won't make it back home.
 

Season Two (2001-2002)

Episode 22: Designate This
After months of reindoctrination, Max must escape her captors and return to Logan before she is forced to mate with Alec, a fellow transgenic.  Still thinking that Max is dead, Logan has since partner up with a new woman, Asha.  In her attempt to escape Manticore, Max meets Joshua, the very first transgenic.

Episode 23: Bag 'em
After blowing up Manticore and freeing all the transgenics, Max must stop an NSA agent, hell-bent on erasing Renfro's mistakes by systematically killing all the X-series.  The agent, White, sets up a trap, using a satellite to lead the transgenics to their deaths.

Episode 24: Proof Of Purchase
As Max struggles to keep Joshua's existence from the citizens of Seattle, Alec finds himself forced to turn against his own.  After his capture, Alec makes a deal with White which allows him to live if he kills three of his fellow transgenic and brings back the code on their necks.  Now Joshua and Max could become Alec's next target.

Episode 25: Radar Love
Max and Logan get into their biggest argument yet, when Logan blames a serious of deaths on transgenics.  However, Max learns a scientist is experimenting for a genocidal agenda.

Episode 26: Boo
On Halloween night, Max deals with an assortment of strange things including talking heads, fortune tellers and haggis.

Episode 27: Two
Max investigates a string of brutal attacks on sector cops, only to find that all of the evidence points towards Joshua.  Upon further investigation, Max realizes these attacks were done by Joshua's younger brother.

Episode 28: Some Assembly Required
Zack returns, but as half human and half robot with no knowledge of his past.  Feeling guilty about his condition, Max attempts to help Zack recover his memories.  When she succeeds, that's when things get more dangerous.

Episode 29: Gill Girl
When an underwater transgenic is discovered and captured, Max attempts to free her.  Unknown to Max, someone else is trying to do the same thing.  When they cross path, it may not be friendly.

Episode 30: Medium Is The Message
Max and Logan attempt to help a woman discover who has kidnapped her son.  However, they learn a darker secret.  The woman is married to Max's greatest enemy, and he may be connected not only to the son's disappearance, but also to a group that dates back 2,000 years.  Meanwhile, Joshua learns how to paint and loses "father's" notes in the process.

Episode 31: Brainiac
When Asha's militant group comes under fire, Max suspects a Manticore-engineered military strategist, a transgenic named Brain.  However Brain tries to protect Max as he attempts to discover who really betrayed the group.

Episode 32: The Berrisford Agenda
Haunted by music from the past, Alec must revisit one of his Manticore missions that went bad and resulted in the loss of his one true love.  Max learns the truth and tries to help him make things right.

Episode 33: Borrowed Time
Nothing ever goes right for Max and Logan.  Max and Logan finally find a cure for their genetically engineered virus except it's only temporary.  They try to use their time together wisely, but a strange deadly Manticore creation is on the loose.

Episode 34: Harbor Lights
Max is shot and taken to a local hospital after a botched robbery attempt.  Her identity is threatened when abnormal qualities show up in her medical test results.  With Logan's technological and logistical support, Max must figure a way out especially when both the Center for Disease Control and White are after her.

Episode 35: Love In Vein
Max must take on a cult of superhuman-blood addicts when she learns they're being led by a Manticore mutant intent on rebuilding an X-5 army.   Meanwhile, Joshua falls in with the wrong crowd after Alec tricks him into delivering his packages for Jam Pony.

Episode 36: Fuhgeddaboudit
Logan and Max struggle against the mental powers of a genetically enhanced hypnotist, but it may be too late.  Not only has she learn about Logan's connections to Eyes Only, she has also tricked Alec into the boxing ring to make some money for some not-so-good fellas.

Episode 37: Exposure
Max and Logan track Ames' kidnapped son, Ray, to a small town and discover Manticore's youngest creations are being prepped for a mysterious ceremony by the mysterious breeding cult known as the Familiars.  Unfortunately for Max, Ray doesn't want to be rescued.

Episode 38: Hello, Goodbye
After a near-fatal contact with Logan, Max decides to end their relationship for good.  A murder committed by Alec's Manticore twin, Ben, puts him under arrest.  Meanwhile, Joshua finds the perfect woman, a blind girl named Annie, but can't find the courage to confess his secret.

Episode 39: Dawg Day Afternoon
Joshua's friendship with the blind woman makes him a target of a transgenic manhunt in the sewers.  Max breaks her vow to avoid Logan when she must seek his help in rescuing Joshua.  White leaks news of the human-looking X-5s to the media, leading to a wide-scale attack against the so-called "monsters" running amok.

Episode 40: She Ain't Heavy
Max faces her deadliest enemy yet, her clone.  Sent by White to capture Max, she is Max's equal in every way.  Max must figure out how to convince her clone to stop fighting, while dealing not only with the disintegration of her relationship with Logan, but also Joshua's disillusionment over not being able to go out in public.

Episode 41: Love Among The Runes
Max begins to develop strange markings on her body while leading a transgenic resistance against White.  However, the transgenics are stunned by revealed secrets about their "father" that threaten all that they believe.  Meanwhile, the Terminal City dwellers mount a campaign to battle the humans hunting them down, and Alec learns why Logan has been keeping his distance from his former friends.

Episode 42: Freak Nation
During a potentially deadly hostage situation at Jam Pony, Max's true identity is exposed to the world and forced to become a leader of her kind.
