Summary

Angel is a 200 year old vampire whose original name is Angelus.  After being sired by Darla, Angelus became one of the worst vampires in history until the family of one of his victim took revenge.  The gypsies cursed him with a soul, forcing him to feel and remember everything he had done.  Angel was living off rats until a demon shows him a purpose.  He follows Buffy Summers to Sunnydale in the hope of protecting her.  He helped her in killing Darla and the Master.  He had also helped Buffy and her friends in combating many other evils including those he had sired such as Drusilia and Spike.  Buffy and Angel had became lovers, but a night together reverted him back to his evil self.  Unknown to Angel, he loses his soul when and if he achieves a moment of happiness.  After a stint as a nemesis for Buffy, he was sent to hell.  Upon his return, Angel and Buffy know their relationship is doomed.  After taking down the mayor, Angel leaves Sunnydale for Los Angeles, where another demon will gives him a purpose.

Season One (1999-2000)

Episode 1: City Of
In L.A., Angel meets Doyle and sets up a private investigation office.  He also saves Cordelia from a rich vampire who preys on young, lost girls in search of fame.

Episode 2: Lonely Hearts
Angel goes undercover at a club in search for a parasitic creature who travels from body to body.  He also meet Kate, a police officer.

Episode 3: Into the Dark
Oz comes to town, and gives Angel a ring that will makes him unkillable.  Too bad, Spike's in town for the same thing, and he wouldn't mind killing Angel for it.

Episode 4: I Fall To Pieces
Angel must protect a woman from a man who can fall to pieces and reattach himself.

Episode 5: Room W/A VU
Angel deals with some demons who have come gunning for Doyle, while Cordelia discovers her new apartment is haunted by an angry ghost.

Episode 6: Sense and Sensivity
Angel must stop a criminal from succeeding in his revenge on Kate.

Episode 7: The Bachelor Party
Doyle's ex-wife is in town, and she's getting marry again.  He's been invited to a bachelor party where his head will be served as the main course.

Episode 8: I Will Remember You
Buffy comes looking for Angel after she found out that Angel was in Sunnydale without her knowledge.  After a battle with a demon, Angel becomes human and spends time with Buffy.

Episode 9: Hero
A group of demons called "The Scourge," are hunting down half-breeds.  Doyle must make the ultimate sacrifice to stop "The Scourge" and saves his friends.

Episode 10: Parting Gifts
Angel and Cordelia deal with the aftermath of  Doyle's death.  Cordelia receives Doyle's visions, and Wesley joins the cast.

Episode 11: Somnambulist
Wesley suspects Angel to be responsible for recent murders, but upon closer investigation, they discover the true culpit to be the successor of Angelus.  Also, Kate discovers the truth about Angel.

Episode 12: Expecting
Cordelia is pregnant after a night with her date.  Also, Angel dances.

Episode 13: She
Angel helps a princess(Bai Ling) from another dimension to save women from her world.

Episode 14: I've Got You Under My Skin
Angel and Wesley perform an exorcism on a child possessed by a 10,000 year old demon.

Episode 15: The Prodigal
Angel remembers his own relationship with his father and the night he was sired by Darla.

Episode 16: The Ring
Angel is captured and forced in a tournament to fight other demons to the death in order to survive.  Wesley and Cordelia must save Angel before he falls prey to his bloodthirst.

Episode 17: Eternity
A famous actress wants immortality after seeking Angel's protection and discovering his true nature.  However, her effort causes the return of the evil Angelus.

Episode 18: Five By Five
Faith is hired by Wolfram and Hart to kill Angel.  Faith tortures Wesley and gets involved in a big showdown with Angel.

Episode 19: Sanctuary
After the fight in last episode, Angel helps Faith with her redemption.  The people who hired Faith sent an assassin after her, while Wesley is contacted by the Watchers Council to help them capture Faith.  Kate gets a lead on the whereabouts of Faith, and Buffy comes to town seeking revenge.

Episode 20: War Zone
Angel gets caught in a war between human and vampire gangs.

Episode 21: Blind Date
Lindsey seeks Angel's help in obtaining secret files to take down Wolfram and Hart in order to save children from a blind demonic assassin.

Episode 22: To Shanshu in LA
A demon seeks to separate Angel from "the higher powers" by incapitating Cordelia and Wesley, in addition to killing the Oracles.  Meanwhile, the Wolfram and Hart firm schemes to rid of Angel by bringing back someone from his past.
 

Season Two (2000-2001)

Episode 23: Judgment
In Cordelia's vision, she sees a demon following a pregnant woman.  Ever since learning he can be human when he finish his destined task, Angel has become cocky.  Once Angel kills the demon, he learns it was the woman's protector.  Feeling guilty, he takes the protector's job.  He fights the tribunal's champion for the asylum of the woman and her unborn child.  Plus, Angel does karoake at the Host's bar.

Episode 24: Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been
When Angel asks Wesley and Cordelia to research on deaths at a hotel, they discover Angel may have been involved in a murder in the 1950s.

Episode 25: First Impressions
When Cordelia sees visions of Gunn's death at a demon's hands, she proclaims herself as his protector and tries her best to save him.  Meanwhile, Angel is losing his edge due to Darla's constant temptations in his dreams.

Episode 26: Untouched
Angel tries to protect Bethany, a girl with telekinesis powers.  Unfortunately, Wolfram and Hart wants Layla to program Bethany into an assassin.

Episode 27: Dear Boy
Darla plays a game of cat and mouse with Angel, resulting in murder and an arrest warrant for Angel.  She's pitting Kate against Angel just as he learns Darla is now human.

Episode 28: Guise Will Be Guise
With Angel away at a swami, Wesley pretends to be Angel when clients come to seek his help.  He is paid to protect a rich man's daughter, Jenny, from assassins.

Episode 29: Darla
Angel's life with Darla, as well as Spike and Drusilia, is revealed.

Episode 30: The Shroud of Amon
To help Gunn's cousin, Angel and Gunn joins a group of demons in stealing the Shroud of Amon.  Unfortunately, they do not know the shroud has the power to make men kill each other.  As tensions increase among the men, things go from bad to worse with the arrival of Kate, forcing Angel to bite her.

Episode 31: The Trial
Having learn that Darla is going to die from a disease, Angel risks his life in a very tough physical trial in order to obtain a miracle cure for her.

Episode 32: Reunion
Knowing the only way to save Darla is by turning her into a vampire, Lindsey brought in Drusilia for help.  Angel tries to destroy Darla before she rises from the dead, but fails.  Distraught, he let Darla and Drusilia feed on a group of helpless and trapped Wolfram and Hart lawyers.

Episode 33: Redefinition
The failure to stop Darla and Drusilia has turned Angel into something neither Angelus nor Angel.  First, he set fire to Darla and Drusilia.  Then, he fired Wesley, Cordelia and Gunn.

Episode 34: Blood Money
Angel learns Wolfram and Hart has been using a girl and her social work as a front for one of their schemes.  Whether or not she's innocent, Angel is going to use her to get back at Wolfram and Hart.

Episode 35: Happy Anniversary
A scientist tries to freeze time in his track before his girlfriend dumps him on their anniversary.   The Host warns Angel that the world is ending unless he can stop it.

Episode 36: The Thin Dead Line
People are being murdered by a group of zombie cops, and Kate must seek Angel's help in stopping it.

Episode 37: Reprise
Angel battles Darla for a gauntlet that will let its user access to the inner sanctum of Wolfram and Hart.  Meanwhile, Kate is fired from the police force.

Episode 38: Epipany
After sleeping with Darla, Angel discovers that he didn't turn into Angelus.  Looking to fix his relationship with Gunn, Wesley and Cordelia, Angel offers his help.  Gunn and Wesley relucantly agree, because a demon seed has been planted inside Cordelia by the three eyed demons.  They must rescue her before it's too late.  In the end, Angel joins Wesley's new agency.

Episode 39: DisHarmony
Having left Spike and Sunnydale behind, Harmony hooks up with her best friend, Cordelia.  Seeking a direction in life, she follows Cordelia around.  When Harmony is sent on a undercover mission at a vampire self help seminar, she finds a new purpose, one which can results in the death of Cordelia, Wesley, Gunn and Angel.

Episode 40: Dead End
Lindsey undergoes surgery and gets himself a new hand courtesy of Wolfram and Hart.  Unfortunately for him, his new hand belongs to a killer.  He and Angel must discover where Wolfram and Hart gets the spare body parts and stop it before it's too late.

Episode 41: Belongings
Demons are popping out of portals and killing people in sight.  One of these is the Host's cousin.  From him, Angel and the others learn the Host's name is Lourde.  With the cousin's help, Angel hopes to stop a man-eating demon from roaming around free.

Episode 42: Over the Rainbow
When Cordelia is thrown into the Host's dimension, she learns humans there are treated like cattle.  Meanwhile at home, Angel and Wesley enlists the Host's help in finding a portal in hope of rescuing Cordelia.

Episode 43: Through the Looking Glass
Cordelia is now ruler of the world, but unknown to her, the demon monks have plans for her.  Ones which may result in her death after she mates.  Meanwhile, Gunn and Wesley get captured by some rebels.  When Angel arrives in this dimension, it was a paradise for him.  He has a reflection and the sun didn't burn him.  Now he learns the price he has to pay for this freedom.  Here, his demon side is so much more ruthless and powerful, he can't control it.  Also, the Host loses his head.

Episode 44: There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb
After Fred has helped Angel calm his demon side, they seek to reunite with the others.  With some unforseen help, Cordelia sent the Host's head away to be reunited with his body.  Meanwhile, Wesley and Gunn lead a human rebellion against their demon masters, unfortunately they doesn't know that the demon monks have a doomsday device that can kill all the humans at once.
 

Season Three (2001-2002)

Episode 45: Hearthrob
While dealing with Buffy's death, Angel accidentally killed an old friend, the true love of a vampire protege of his.  Now his student come seeking revenge after discovering a way to become immune to death.  He wishes to kill Angel and all he cares for.

Episode 46: That Vision Thing
Lately, the pain from the visions has been growing too intense for Cordelia.  Now, her powers are threatening to kill her.  The only way for Angel to save Cordelia is to work for Wolfram and Hart.

Episode 47: That Old Gang of Mine
Gunn's old gang attacks the Host's bar after murdering a series of demons.  The only way for Angel to save the hostages is to give himself up.  Unfortunately for Angel, the Host's bar is surrounded by a spell which forbids demons from using any form of violence, but that's not true for the bloodthirsty humans.

Episode 48: Carpe Noctum
An old man conjures a spell which allows him to switch bodies with Angel.  Trapped as an old man, Angel seeks to escape from the old folks' home before the new possessor of his body discovers his vampiric powers.  Plus, Angel learns about Buffy's resurrection.

Episode 50: Billy
Angel and Cordelia feel guilty when they discover the creature, Angel previously rescued for Wolfram and Hart in order to save Cordelia, has been killing people.  The creature can make man kill woman.  Angel has been teaching Cordelia self defense, but what can she do when the attacker is a manipulated Angel.

Episode 51: Offspring
The gang learns of a prophecy in which a great evil will be born, just as Darla returns and pregnant with Angel's child.  Will Angel kill Darla and sacrifice his unborn child to save the world?

Episode 52: Quickening
Fred discovers that Angel's baby is not the threat the prophecy speaks of.  The gang decides to help Angel protect Darla until she gives birth.  Meanwhile, a vampire hunter from Angel's past returns for vengeance, because Angel and Darla had previously killed the man's family.

Episode 53: Lullaby
Angel fights off various evil, seeking Darla and his unborn baby just in time for a confrontation with Hotz .  The Host's bar is destroyed again when Hotz seeks Darla, just as she is ready to give birth.

Episode 54: Dad
After Darla's death, Angel feels personally responsible for his son's safety, shutting out the rest of the gang in the process, just as various clans of humans and demons plan to kidnap his child.

Episode 55: Birthday
On her birthday, Cordelia falls into a coma because of her visions and is given a chance by a demon guide to see what her life would have been like if she is willing to give up her powers and history with Angel.

Episode 56: Provider
Advertising brought Angel Investigations an unexpected amount of business which results in the crew being spread too thin for its own good.  Fred is offered big bucks to solve a demonic puzzle, but the answer may mean her death.  Meanwhile, Gunn and Wesley protect a woman whose zombie ex-boyfriend is stalking her.

Episode 57: Waiting In The Wings
Angel takes the gang out for an evening at the ballet.  Instead, he and Cordelia become possessed by the spirits of two ballet dancers who are unrequited lovers.  Angel learns he has romantic feelings for Cordelia.

Episode 58: Couplet
Angel becomes jealous when Groosalugg arrives and saves the gang in battle and is immediately welcomed into the loving arms of Cordelia.

Episode 59: Loyalty
After discovering the prophecy about Angel devouring his own son, Wesley preoccupies himself with protecting Connor.  He is given three signs to look for, but when an earthquake shakes Los Angeles, all three signs come true.  Meanwhile, Gunn and Fred walk into a trap set up by one of Holtz's lackeys.

Episode 60: Sleep Tight
Angel's angry behavior and sudden cravings for human blood frighten Wesley enough for him to kidnap Conner from Angel.  Unfortunately for Wesley, he gets his throat slit and Conner stolen by Holtz.

Episode 61: Forgiving
While Wesley slowly bleeds to death in the park, his friends question his motivations for betrayal.  Angel conjures dark magic and risks ripping right through the fabric of reality to find his lost son.  In the process, Angel learns the prophecy is fake and tells Wesley that as he tries to kill him in his hospital bed.

Episode 62: Double Or Nothing
Gunn traded his soul a long time ago, and now a demon has come to collect.  To make things worse, he's holding Fred hostage until Gunn makes good on his deal.  Cordelia does her best to offer sympathy to a depressed Angel, while Wesley realizes he has been forsaken by his friends.

Episode 63: The Price
For using powerful dark magic in Angel's failed attempt to bring back his son, the hotel is infected with deadly slug-like creatures who invade Fred's body.  Her only hope is the man they abandoned, Wesley.  Cordelia discovers a new and shocking power, and the crew learns of a being called "the Destroyer" who is coming to kill Angel.

Episode 64: A New World
Angel's son Connor is brought back from the Hell dimension as a feral teenage warrior hellbent on vengeance against his father.  When he fails, the confused teen escapes to the mean streets of L.A. and befriends a troubled but kind homeless girl.  Meanwhile, the dimensional rift Conner traveled through continues to cause trouble at the hotel.

Episode 65: Benediction
Angel and Connor bond when they find themselves fighting side-by-side, but foster-father Holtz stirs things up by suggesting Connor should leave him to live with Angel.  Meanwhile, Lilah continues to try recruiting Wesley for Wolfram & Hart.  Cordelia's closeness with Angel causes a rift in her relationship with Groosalugg.

Episode 66: Tomorrow
Conner seeks revenge against Angel when he is led to believe Holtz was murdered by his vampiric father.  When Cordelia and Angel are finally meeting to express their feelings for each other, he gets trapped underwater by his son, while she is elevated to a higher plane of existence.
 

Season Four (2002-2003)

Episode 67: Deep Down
After three months, Gunn and Fred are no closer in finding Angel or Cordelia.  Their only lead is a vampire who's just been dusted by Conner.  However, Wesley has better luck than they do.  Despite his sexual relationship with Lilah, he discovers Angel's whereabouts after a little torture with Justine.  Wesley saves Angel from his watery grave and informs Gunn and Fred of Conner's involvement.  Also Lilah becomes Head of the Special Projects Division after Linwood loses his head at a meeting.

Episode 68: Ground State
While a little help from Wesley, Angel discovers there's a way to find Cordelia.  All he needs is a mystical antiquity called the axis which can locate souls across dimensions.  Angel, Fred and Gunn break into an auction house to retrieve the object only to discover that an electrifying cat burglar has the same intentions.

Episode 69: The House Always Wins
Angel, Fred and Gunn take a road trip to Las Vegas to enlist Lorne's help, instead they find Lorne held hostage by a ruthless casino owner.  In order to win Lorne's freedom, the gang may have to gamble their futures.

Episode 70: Slouching Toward Bethlehem
After months of existing on a higher plane, Cordelia reappears at the hotel with a serious case of amnesia.  Believing the truth would only scare her, the gang attempts to hide the freaky facts about their lives.  When the truth is revealed, it drives Cordelia into Conner's arms.  Things get even more complicated when Lorne reads her mind and sees a terrifying vision of the future.

Episode 71: Supersymmetry
Fred is invited to speak at a symposium when her physics article is published.  She learns a horrible truth about her old professor after a portal opens during her speech.  Now she must choose between Gunn or Wesley when she needs help for revenge.

Episode 72: Spin The Bottle
When Lorne performs a spell on Cordelia to restore her memory, it inadvertently causes the gang to revert back to their high school personas and leaves them with no memories of each other.  Wesley deduces that the only solution is to kill a vampire, just as Angel realizes that he is one.

Episode 73: Apocalypse, Nowish
Angel and company brace for the imminent arrival of a hellish beast who will bring about Judgment Day.  While Cordelia and Connor hunt down the menace themselves, Angel seeks Lilah's help in the creature's whereabouts. Angel, Gunn, Lorne and Wesley battle The Beast and lose resulting in a "rain of fire" in Los Angeles.

Episode 74: Habeas Corpses
When Angel realizes that there may be some connection between Connor and The Beast, he learns that Connor is trapped within Wolfram & Hart where the building is under lock-down after The Beast's attack.  Angel, Wesley, Gunn and Fred break into the building, only to encounter zombies of dead lawyers.  Angel also angrily reveals to Cordelia that he knows about her and Connor.

Episode 75: Long Day's Journey
The Beast is searching for 5 mystical Totems and has slaughtered 3 of them.  The last Totem is a guy named Manny.  Gwen Raiden and Angel Investigations hide him in Gwen's panic room, guarded by Angel and Cordelia.  When Angel and Cordelia are mysteriously drugged, Manny meets a nasty fate at the hands of The Beast causing the sun to disappear from Los Angeles.  The gang accuse Connor of connections to The Beast, but get really floored when they learn who the culprit really is.

Episode 76: Awakening
Cordelia reveals that the Beast and Angelus used to be a team, but Angel has no memory of it.  Wesley arrives at the hotel with a Shaman named Wo-Pang who has the ability to extract and replace souls.  After much discussion, the gang decide that the only way to find information on The Beast is to remove Angel's soul and bring back Angelus.

Episode 77: Soulless
With Angel's soul locked away in a safe, the gang interrogates Angelus.  After he reveals the truth behind their recent actions, Cordelia makes a deal with Angelus.  He agrees and tells them that in 1789, The Beast needed his help while trying to kill a group of Nordic Svea Priestesses.  Angelus declined to help and the Svears successfully banished The Beast fom Earth.  Unfortunately, they retrieve this information too late.  When they decide to restore Angel's soul, they discover it's missing.

Episode 78: Calvary
The gang rush to confront Wo-Pang about the missing soul, but he doesn't have it.  When they arrive home they find Lilah on the cameras, talking to Angelus.  They follow her and retrieve the information that Wolfram & Hart has stolen from Lorne's head.  She also has news of The Beast via a book from another dimension.  After Cordelia has a vision, Gunn and Connor retrieve the head of a soul eater seen in her vision.  The gang perform a spell using the head and Angel returns.  But it's still really Angelus, and he escapes.  While the gang hunts him down, Lilah is killed by Cordelia.

Episode 79: Salvage
The gang return in time to find Angelus feeding on Lilah.  After Angelus escapes, Wesley decapitates Lilah fully as her ghost taunts him.  He pays Faith a visit and escapes with her.  Angelus and the Beast hear about Faith's arrival and lure her and Wesley to a place where they can meet.  While some vampires keep Wesley busy, Angelus and The Beast take on Faith.  Just as The Beast is about to kill her, Angelus stabs him with a dagger made of his own bones.  As a result, sunlight returns to Los Angeles.  As the sun sets, Cordelia confronts Connor and tells him that she is carrying his child.

Episode 80: Release
Angelus is pestered by the voice of The Beast's master until he returns to the hotel looking for a book.  Meanwhile, Wesley notices Faith is lacking a "killing spirit" and attempts to give it back to her.  They track Angelus to a library where Faith gets bitten.     

Episode 81: Orpheus
After biting Faith, Angelus faints.  Apparently, Faith had earlier injected a drug into her blood, making it very lethal.  While the gang care for her, her spirit tries to help Angel battling Angelus in his psyche.  Also Willow arrives to Los Angeles seeking to restore Angel's soul.

Episode 82: Players
After discovering that Cordelia is pregnant, the gang research what type of demon the offspring could be.  Meanwhile, Gunn helps Gwen rescue a girl named Lisa from a posh house party.  Soon he realizes he has been tricked when L.I.S.A. turns out to be Gwen's latest stolen item.

Episode 83: Inside Out
Desperate to find out why Cordelia has turned to the dark side, Angel goes to the demon Skip for answers.  Forcing the truth out of him, Angel learns that all that's transpired; Connor's birth, Cordelia's ascension to the higher plane, Angel turning into Angelus and Cordelia's pregnancy, were all a part of a higher being's plan to create something even more powerful than itself.  Meanwhile, Cordelia and Connor go into hiding in order to protect their unborn child.  Connor makes a life altering decision despite the objections of Darla.

Episode 84: Shiny Happy People
Angel and the gang arrives just in time to find a naked woman standing next to an unconscious Cordelia unaware she's her offspring.  With her help, they defeat the extra demons that has surfaced since the darkness.  They follow her around town, where everyone appears to be kneeling before her and praising her.  She has now been named Jasmine.  Unfortunately, an incident forced Fred to see Jasmine's true face.  After Fred has learn more about her, she informs Wesley about her suspicions.  Unfortunately, everyone else is brainwashed and now considers Fred as a threat.

Episode 85: The Magic Bullet
Fred relies on her own when the whole world is after her.  She realizes how she was able to see Jasmine's true face and set a plan to free Angel and the others from her control, but Conner betrays them to her.

Episode 86: Sacrifice
After Angel and the gang escaped from the hotel, they seek refuge in the sewers.  They encounter a group of teenagers who warn them about a bug-like creature, but the warning comes too late.  The creature captures Wesley hoping to use him in a sacrifice.  From the creature, Wesley learns the truth and a possible answer to Jasmine's defeat.

Episode 87: Peace Out
While in Jasmine's previous dimension, Angel finds the key to her defeat.  Meanwhile at the hotel, Gunn, Lorn, Wesley and Fred await their fate behind a steel cage as Jasmine prepares to broadcast her message across the world.  Despite Jasmine's orders, Conner goes in search of Cordelia.

Episode 88: Home
After defeating Jasmine, Wolfram & Hart offers Angel Investigations an offer they may not be able to refuse.  Lilah returns to broker the deal and gives the gang a tour of their new headquarter.  To sweeten the deal, Wolfram & Hart helps Angel in taking care of Conner and finding Cordelia.
